Description:
Each 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor features a stainless steel expansion clip, zinc plated threaded stud body and zinc plated nut and washer.

Applications:
The 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is designed for use in solid concrete and should not be used in other base materials such as brick or block.

Packaging:
Each box of 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor contains 10 pieces and weights 9.4 pounds.  Each carton has 3 boxes of  10 pieces (totaling 30 pieces)  and weighs 29 pountds.

Anchor Diameter:
The diameter of the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is 5/8” and designated by the first number in the description.

Anchor Length:
The length of the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is the second number in the description, or 10”.  The length of the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is measured as an overall length from end to end and includes the threads.

Thread Type:

Hole Diameter:

Depth of Hole:
The 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor does not use the bottom of the hole for expansion.  The hole can be any depth as long as exceeds the required minimum embedment plus 1/2”.   The extra 1/2” allows space for any dust that is created during the installation process to fall out of the way.

Minimum Embedment:
The minimum embedment for the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is  2-3/4”.  This means that for the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor to obtain minimum holding values in concrete, it must be embedded below the surface of the concrete a minimum of 2-3/4” after it has been torqued to the proper values.

Diameter of Hole in Fixture:
If the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor will be installed with the fixture in place, then the hole in the fixture must be a minimum of 11/16” in diameter. 

Length Identification:
The threaded end of the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is stamped with a letter that identifies the overall length of the anchor allowing for embedment depth inspection after installation.  The letter “R"is stamped on the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor to indicate an overall length of 10” but less than 11". 

Wrench Size Required:
The required size of wrench used to tighten the nut to expand the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is 15/16”.

Torque Value:
Each 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor installed must be torqued to 90 ft/lbs to meet holding value requirements.

Minimum Slab Thickness:
The minimum thickness for the slab of concrete that the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is installed into is 5”, based on embedment of 2-3/4".

Minimum Edge Distance:
The recommended distance from an unsupported edge of concrete for both tension and shear for the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor is 4-13/16" at  an effective embedment of 2-3/4".

Minimum Spacing:
When installing more than one 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor, the recommended spacing between anchors required to obtain maximum working load is 9-5/8"” at an effective embedment depth of 2-3/4.

 Ultimate Holding Values – 2000-PSI Concrete 

*Allowable values are based on a 4 to 1 safety factor.  Divide the ultimate values by 4 to obtain allowable load values.

Installation:

1. Using a hammer drill in the hammer and rotation mode with a 1/2” carbide tipped drill bit, drill a hole to any depth exceeding the recommended minimum embedment depth, plus space to accommodate drill fines.
2. Clean out hole.
3. Assemble nut and washer on to the threaded end of the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor to protect the threads. 
4. Insert 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor into predrilled hole in the concrete.
   Using a hammer, drive the 5/8" x 10” Red Head Trubolt wedge anchor until washer is flush with concrete or with the surface of the material being fastened.
5. Expand anchor by turning the nut clockwise 3-5 turns past hand tight position, or until specified torque requirements are reached.
