Technical Information:

The Snaptoggle® anchoring system is the latest in hollow-wall anchor technology for use in walls, ceilings and floors. The pre-assembled anchoring system is made of a zinc plated metal channel, polystyrene straps and handle and a polypropylene copolymer cap, and comes ready for use. The Snaptoggle® is pre-installed without the fixture or the bolt, making installation a one person job.

Toggle Bolt – Approvals:

Federal Specification FF-B-588-D (superseded), Type V

Toggle Bolt - Applications:

Light to medium-duty in hollow block, hollow brick, wall board, paneling, plaster, fiberglass, plywood, plastic and composite panels.

Toggle Bolt - Installation:

  1. Drill an appropriate sized hole.
  2. Hold the metal channel flat alongside the plastic straps and slide the channel through hole.
  3. With one hand, pull toward you so the metal channel rests flush behind the wall, as you slide the plastic cap along the straps with your other hand until the flange of the cap is flush with the wall.
  4. Place your thumb between the plastic straps at the wall. Push side to side, snapping off the straps flush with the wall.
  5. Place your fixture over the flange and insert the bolt through the fixture hole and into the Toggler®. Tighten the bolt until it is snug against the fixture. Minimum clearance behind wall is 1-7/8".

Toggle Bolt - Screw Length:

The minimum screw length required is equal to the thickness of the material to be fastened plus the thickness of the base material .

Values shown are average ultimate values and are offered only as a guide and are not guaranteed. A safety factor of 4:1 or 25% is generally accepted as a safe working load. Reference should be made to applicable codes for the specific working ratio.

Holding values for the Snaptoggle hollow-wall anchor vary directly with the strength and condition of the substrate and the bolt size – and inversely with variations in hole diameter and the distance of the load from the wall.
