Installation Video
Installing a 5/16" x 3-1/2" Flat Slotted Sleeve Anchor Zinc Plated - Drill a 5/16" hole into the concrete using a carbide-tipped bit that meets ANSI Standards B212.15.
- Drill the hole a 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete, making sure the minimum embedment requirements of 1" is met.
- The hole can be drilled while the fixture is in place. The minimum hole in the fixture for the 5/16" x 3-1/2" Flat Slotted Sleeve Anchor Zinc Plated is 3/8".
- Clean the hole with a wire brush, vacuum, compressed air, or a blow-out bulb.
- The 5/16" x 3-1/2" Flat Slotted Sleeve Anchor Zinc Plated is manufactured and sold fully assembled with nut and washer. It is important that the nut is on the end of the threads to protect the threads when it is struck by a hammer during installation.
- Insert the anchor though the fixture hole and into the hole in the base material. A hammer will be required to pound the sleeve anchor into the base material until the washer and nut are tight against the fixture.
- Tighten the nut on the 5/16" x 3-1/2" Flat Slotted Sleeve Anchor Zinc Plated until finger tight by turning clockwise.
- Using a flat screwdriver, turn the nut 2 to 4 times until snug or until the proper torque value of 8 - 12 Ft./lbs. is reached.
- Always use proper personal protective equipment per manufacturer's and OSHA instructions.

“I used these to hang plywood over my windows for hurricane protection. They were easy to install and worked great. With this particular version of the product you have to know, pretty closely, the exact length you need due to the way it functions. It would have been MUCH better to have a fully threaded stud with a hex nut and washer. But that was not an available option. I plan to use more of these to add in areas where I had to use Tapcon screws due to length constraints, IF they are available. Otherwise, great product, decent price for quantities (much better than Amazon or a hardware store), delivery was very timely, and that was a must with the hurricane nearing down on us. Btw, I am speaking of hurricane Dorian!”
