Strong-Drive® SD CONNECTOR Screw

Strong-Drive® SD CONNECTOR Screw

The Strong-Drive SD Connector screw is engineered specifically to replace nails within designated Simpson Strong-Tie connectors, serving as the sole screw authorized for such applications. With its load-rated design, this screw has undergone extensive testing and approval for use across a wide range of popular Simpson Strong-Tie products. Offering greater ease and convenience in installation compared to nails in certain scenarios, the SD screw achieves single-fastener load values that exceed those of typical 10d common or 16d common nails. Additionally, its galvanized coating ensures suitability for both interior and most exterior conditions.

  • Specifically engineered to replace nails within designated Simpson Strong-Tie connectors, serving as the sole approved screw for this purpose. The #9 and #10 SD screws effectively replace 10d and 16d nails, respectively.

  • Shank tailored to precisely match the fastener holes in Simpson Strong-Tie connectors.
  • Optimized heat treatment ensures a balance of ductility and strength.
  • The single-fastener load capacity of the SD9 surpasses that of a 10d common nail, while the SD10 outperforms the 16d common nail.
  • Includes a hex driver bit for convenient installation.

Mechanically-galvanized coating meets ASTM B695 Class 55, is recommended for use with certain preservative-treated woods and recognized as an alternate to hot-dip galvanized in ESR-3046; it is compliant with the 2015 and 2018 International Residential Code®.
