Wall Driller Technical Information
Technical Information:
The wall driller is a self-drilling anchor designed for use in drywall. It is available in both nylon and Zamac for use with #6 or #8 sheet metal screws.
Applications:
Light duty into wallboard. Do not use overhead.
Installation:
- Insert #2 or #3 Phillips bit tip into head of wall driller.
- Press the point of the wall driller into the wallboard while turning the anchor clockwise until it is seated flush with the wall.
- Place the fixture over the hole of the wall driller and insert the proper size sheet metal screw. A three-quarter inch (3/4") minimum thread engagement is recommended.
- Tighten the screw until it feels secure.
Screw Length:
The length of the screw required is determined by adding the thickness of the material to be fastened (including any spacers or shims) plus 3/4", to allow for proper penetration.
Potential Uses:
Small pictures, lightweight bathroom fixtures, lightweight appliances, small signs, conduit clips, smoke detectors.
