Wall Driller Technical Information

Technical Information:

The wall driller is a self-drilling anchor designed for use in drywall. It is available in both nylon and Zamac for use with #6 or #8 sheet metal screws.

Applications:

Light duty into wallboard. Do not use overhead.

Installation:

  1. Insert #2 or #3 Phillips bit tip into head of wall driller.
  2. Press the point of the wall driller into the wallboard while turning the anchor clockwise until it is seated flush with the wall.
  3. Place the fixture over the hole of the wall driller and insert the proper size sheet metal screw. A three-quarter inch (3/4") minimum thread engagement is recommended.
  4. Tighten the screw until it feels secure.

Screw Length:

The length of the screw required is determined by adding the thickness of the material to be fastened (including any spacers or shims) plus 3/4", to allow for proper penetration.

Potential Uses:

Small pictures, lightweight bathroom fixtures, lightweight appliances, small signs, conduit clips, smoke detectors.
