Installation Instructions:

The NBE.75 Embed must be installed into a rigid, structural substrate that meets the project engineer’s specifications.

Layout & Fastening

• Layout NBE.75 & attach to the form for desired location & height prior to concrete pour.
•  NBE.75 Embeds can be suspended to the top of the form using 2 x 4’s or attached to the form for placement.
• Install port protection caps if you are not using the port to attach NBE.75 to form

Concrete Pour

• Pour concrete & embed NBE.75. Do not allow concrete to cover the top NBE.75 
• Let concrete cure according to manufactures guidelines
• Remove form and place port protection caps in port of NBE.75 to prevent contamination of the internal threaded port on NBE.75

Surface Prep & Waterproofing

• Scarify each NBE.75 anchor mount per the waterproof flashing manufacturer’s recommendations to improve adhesion.
•  Apply waterproofing per the roofing membranes manufacturers recommendations
•  After waterproofing has cured, cut out the port protection caps to expose internal threads

Washer Placement and Reassembly

• Place a minimum 1/16” thick washer over each NBE.75 port so that the washers sit directly on the waterproofing membrane.
• Use a washer with an ID size of at least 3/4” around the internal port of the NBE.75
•  Attachment should never sit directly on the waterproofing
• ¾”-10 bolts for attachments
• Ensure bolt is fully seated in the port without bottoming out
• Torque to 60 ft-lbs using a hand tool only
• Use a level and structural shims if necessary
• No power tools for final tightening.
